Your photos.
Your server.

Noodle Gallery backs up every photo and video from your family's phones to a server you own, and gives you a beautiful app to enjoy them. No Google, no subscription, nobody else looking.

You
Step 1

Take a photo.

Snap something on your phone the way you always do. Nothing new to learn.

Step 2

It goes straight home.

The app backs it up to your own server in the background. No company's cloud in the middle, and nobody training anything on your memories.

Everyone

Bring the whole family.

Partner, kids, grandparents: everyone gets their own account on the same server, and every phone backs up to one place you control.

On any computer

A gallery worth opening.

Open it in any browser and your whole library is there: a fast timeline, albums, a map, memories and video. Your new photo is already at the top.

In your pocket

And on every phone.

The Noodle Gallery app for iPhone and Android shows the same library everywhere. Favourite a photo on the laptop and it's a favourite on your phone.

People

It knows who's who.

Face recognition runs on your own server. It finds your people across years of photos without sending a single face anywhere.

Search

Describe the photo you remember in your own words, and smart search finds it. It runs on your server too.

Spaces

One shared place for the family.

A Space is a timeline everyone adds to. Holidays, birthdays, the kids growing up: in one place instead of five group chats, while everyone keeps their own library.

Yours

Private, open source and free.

Everything you expect from a big photo app, on hardware you control.

  • No subscription, ever
  • No ads, no tracking
  • Your photos stay on your server
  • Open source under AGPL-3.0
Ready?

Set it up today.

One Docker Compose file and about five minutes. Bring your library over from Google Photos or Immich whenever you're ready.

Built on Immich

Noodle Gallery is a fork of Immich, the open-source photo app. We follow upstream closely and add the features in this story on top. Already running Immich? Three lines of config move you across, and one script moves you back. Your photos and videos never move.

Coming from Google Photos?

Gallery has an import wizard that reads your Google Takeout archive. Dates, GPS coordinates, descriptions, favourites and album structure all survive the move. Upload the zip in your browser and the wizard does the rest.
