Bring whole albums into a Shared Space — link an existing album or create a new one inside the space, and every photo lands on a dedicated Albums tab for every member, on web and mobile.
A Shared Space used to be a single combined timeline — every member's photos in one long river of pictures. That's perfect for a weekend trip and unworkable for a family library that spans years. Space Albums give every Space a dedicated Albumstab, so the same collection can be organised into named albums instead of one endless scroll.
Owners and Editors add albums in two ways: link an album you already have, or create a fresh one right inside the Space. Either way its photos appear for every member immediately, and the Albums tab carries the same search, sort, group, and view controls as your personal Albums page — including grouping by who linked the album or who owns it.
Linked by reference, never copied
Linking an album into a Space doesn't duplicate a single photo. The album stays in its owner's library and simply becomes visible inside the Space; unlink it later and it disappears from the Space without touching the original. A Space can hold as many albums as you like, each opening into its own titled timeline with its own filters — a real album, just reachable from inside the shared collection.
Contribute across libraries
A shared album is only useful if everyone can add to it. When an Owner or Editor adds photos theydon't own to a linked album, those photos become contributions: they show up in the album for every member, who can view and download them — but they never leave their real owner's library. It's genuine cross-library collaboration without anyone handing over their originals, and if the album is ever unlinked, the contributions are simply withdrawn.
You decide what reaches the timeline
Not every album belongs in the shared river of photos. Each linked album has its ownshow in the space timeline switch, so an editor can keep a curated album browsable on the Albums tab without flooding the combined timeline. It works alongside each member's own preference for whether a Space appears in their personal timeline at all — an album's photos surface in your timeline only when both switches are on.
Roles keep it tidy, on web and mobile
Space Albums follow the same Owner / Editor / Viewer roles as the rest of Shared Spaces. Owners and Editors link, create, and curate albums; Viewers get the full browsing toolbar but a read-only view. Every album action — created, renamed, photos added or removed — is recorded in the Space's activity log, and the whole Albums experience is mirrored on the iPhone and Android apps, not just the web.
