Generated Memory Types
Nine new kinds of memory, each on its own day of the month: a month recap, a season, a place you were on this date, a person you have not seen in a while, the videos you forgot you shot.

The memories release. On This Day only ever asked one question — what happened on this date? — so on most days, for most libraries, it came up empty. Nine new rules now run beside it, each looking for a different shape of story: a month, a season, a place you kept returning to, two people who keep appearing together, a trip whose anniversary has come round, the videos you never watched again. They are staggered across the month rather than fired all at once, and every one of them has a switch. Alongside them, Workflows finally reach into Shared Spaces, share links stop dropping everyone else’s contributions, search works inside an album instead of throwing you back to your whole library, and Gallery gets its new five-petal mark.

Let a workflow file photos into a Shared Space for you: into the space itself, or straight into an album inside it, created on the spot if it does not exist yet.

A share link made from inside a Space now carries what everyone else contributed.
Album and space album pages are now searchable surfaces in their own right.
Noodle Gallery’s logo set is replaced by the new five-petal mark.
Filter sections now appear only when the data behind them can actually narrow something.
Album owners and editors can change an album’s creation date, on web and mobile.
The People row in the asset viewer’s info panel can now show either the representative face for each person or the face cropped from the photo you are looking at.
